Take a deep, cleansing breath. Now shake your a$$.
We had the best of both worlds at Get Down Dog, Saturday April 1 at Unknown Brewing Company. The class started with a 45 minute dance party and ended with stretching and meditation, courtesy of yogi Dina Gambella and the NC Yoga Bar. It will go down as one of the greatest Charlotte collabos of all time, like Cam and Greg, food trucks and Fridays or craft beer and, well, everything.
Speaking of beer, if you haven’t been to one of our pop up brewery classes at Unknown or Sugar Creek Brewing, GET YOUR LIFE. There’s something about dancing in close proximity beer that adds to the level of turnt-ness.
THE JAM HBIC Erica Butler and Simone Lindsey slayed like they always do, keeping the crowd hype, sweaty and happy. Here’s one thing we learned - don’t let a 45 minute class fool you. In 45 minutes, Erica can have you in full last-call-at-the-bar-better-dance-like-it’s-my-last-day-on-earth-mode.
After ending the dance portion on a high note (Beyonce), it was time to get zen. Dina Gambella, a.k.a Instagram’s @thecheekyyogi, stretched our bodies and our minds. After some intense cardio and toning, it felt AH-MAH-ZING to release that energy. Also, we love Dina because she’s all about positivity and empowerment and inclusivity. If that’s not THE JAM, I don’t know what is.
If you missed the first Get Down Dog, never fear. It was too good not to do again. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, go follow @thecheekyyogi and @NCYogaBar. Ali Washburn is doing rad things with NC Yoga Bar, offering pop up classes at cool locations around town with a full schedule of bada** instructors.
So back to dancing and beer - there’s a new addition on THE JAM: CLT Schedule! Thirsty Thursdays are now every Thursday at Sugar Creek Brewery at 6:30. Make sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram for more fun announcements coming your way!
